Artist In Residence
If you are a working artist with an accomplished fine art photography/canvas portfolio, or a talented emerging artist, and would like to explore a new and exciting level for your work, then contact me, Bob Killen, Artist Guide, to join the Mojave National Preserves Artists in Residence Program.
We are seeking fine art image-makers, (photography and paint) to explore the Mojave National Preserve with their cameras and canvas. For the artist in residence program we seek artists whose work will capture and preserve the meaning of the Mojave National Preserve, but whose aesthetic sense stirs a deep measure of artistic affect within the viewer.
Therefore, fine art works for the AIR program have subject matter that focuses on natural elements, past human land use, landscape, historic architecture, and even dramatic images dealt with subtly and in fine detail. Artists are free to pursue themes, materials, mediums, postproduction techniques, and personals styles that can best achieve the goals of the program.
The National Park Service provides a field residence for a 2- 6 weeks depending upon your project. Upon completion, your work will show in the Desert Light Gallery for 60 to 90 days. The Park Service will sell your work with an attractive revenue split and continue to sell the work on the Artists in Residence Web site for a period of two years.
